If you are the current Faculty Advisor, a reset password link will be sent to you. upon clicking the link, you will be taken to reset your password and then automatically logged into the system.
If you are a new Faculty Advisor, an invitation will be sent to you to become the Faculty Advisor for your chapter. Upon accepting the invitation you will be able to login, create, edit and manage your chapters members.
The 2027 Biennial Convention is at the Sheraton Grand Nashville Downtown. You can reserve a room in our group block two ways:
Reservations must be made by December 15, 2026 to receive the group rate.
The negotiated group rate is $159 per night at the Sheraton Grand Nashville Downtown. To receive this discounted rate, reservations must be made by December 15, 2026.
The group rate may be available for January 9th after the convention dates (January 6–8, 2027), subject to availability. Contact the Sheraton Grand Nashville Downtown directly at (615) 259-2000 and reference "Phi Alpha Theta Biennial Convention" to inquire about extended-stay availability at the group rate.

All student and faculty paper presenters must register for the convention. Panel chair volunteers must also register.
Family members and friends are welcome to attend. They do not need to pay the full registration fee — family tickets are $19.21 per person at all pricing tiers.
Non-presenters can attend panel sessions at the $19.21 per person rate. Delegates receive a Commemorative 2027 Biennial Gift following the convention.

No. The convention registration fee is non-refundable.
No. Convention registration and hotel reservations are separate. After registering for the convention, be sure to book your hotel room at the Sheraton Grand Nashville Downtown before the December 15, 2026 deadline to receive the group rate.
Each chapter is allowed one delegate, appointed by the faculty advisor. Delegates are eligible for a Commemorative 2027 Biennial Convention Gift following the convention.

The convention spans three days:
A detailed session schedule with specific panel times and topics will be available closer to the event.
Paper submission is part of the registration process. When you register for the convention, one of the steps will include your paper information.
The submission deadline is November 13, 2026.
We invite submissions of original research on all topics in history. Undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty members are all encouraged to submit.
Paper presenters must be verified members of Phi Alpha Theta. Undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty members, and independent scholars are all welcome to present.
If you are not yet a member, you may join in order to present — as long as you meet the membership requirements. Your faculty advisor must submit your membership information and dues prior to the conference.
We welcome submissions of original research on all topics in history. The 2027 convention features expanded panel topics, including more diverse subjects, roundtable discussions, and enhanced formats for engaging presentations.
Paper presenters will receive detailed panel information — including the date, time, and assigned panel chair — closer to the convention. We will send out the final panel information by December 10th. The full session schedule will be published in advance of the event.
No. Meals are separate from the registration fee. You can purchase the Complete Meal Package ($155) for all four events, or buy individual meal tickets:

Yes. Family and friends are welcome at the convention and do not need to pay the full registration fee. However, if they wish to attend any meal events, they must purchase meal tickets separately. Some members only meal events will not be available for purchase by Family, Friends and guests.

Business casual attire is suitable for all convention events, including panel sessions, meal events, and the Presidential Banquet.
